Marketing & Communications Internship Job Description

Job Title: Marketing & Communications Intern
Location: Sarasota, Fla.
Stipend: Unpaid Internship
Time Commitment: 12 hours per week, 14 weeks
Supervisor: Director of Traditional Centralized Operations

Position Summary
Provide general support on graphics and communications projects related to fitness branch initiatives and Activate America® program. Assist with association-wide projects, including Educational Outreach, Child Care, Fall program preparation, and support work for development of annual association marketing plan.

Duties:
• Assist with desktop publishing projects
• Create flyers and other publications as requested by branches and approved by the Marketing & Membership Department (M&M)
• Actively participate in the M&M department in carrying out all aspects of the Sarasota Family YMCA marketing plan and membership services
• Provide support as needed for special events, including community luncheons and public outreach events promoting membership at the Sarasota Family YMCA
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
• Strong computer skills including experience with Microsoft Office suite of programs; Basic HTML knowledge; Adobe InDesign experience preferred, but not required
• Ability to design in correlation with the overall look of current Sarasota Family YMCA collateral
• Willingness to work on a flexible schedule
• Excellent written and verbal skills
• Photography skills a plus
• Must have own transportation (intern will be compensated for work-related mileage.
